You only apply once, but if you’re not accepted into a certain Hard Hat Tour, then your application will be automatically rolled over to the next available Tour.
Yes, we accept playtesters from all over the world! The majority of the game utilizes localization symbols and we are working on our NPC language support. However, there may be a few instances where reading comprehension of English may be required.
We will be replying to applications within 2-3 weeks of receipt of application. If your application is declined, but later accepted for a future Tour, you may be notified at a future date for the qualified Tour.
Le Zoo™ is calling our playtest a Hard Hat Tour because the park is very much still in construction. This is NOT a playtest of a completed game experience. This is a playtest of an ongoing game under construction.
We are unveiling our unfinished Alpha version of our world to Hard Hat Tourists who are ready to get their hands dirty with a hard hat and the appropriate gear when approaching the construction site.
You’re not afraid to fall through the ground. Mesh colliders are still being set up in some areas of the park. This is just one example of how construction may appear in the game. If something looks glitchy, don’t be afraid — let us know!
Be ready for changes and the new new. Right now, the majority of the park is open land ripe for new attractions. As Hard Hat Tourists enter the park, new attractions and minigame experiences will come online. Expect new builds and new experiences throughout the course of a Hard Hat Tour.
Be open to co-creating. Instead of waiting a year or more to bring this experience to eager parkgoers, Le Zoo park management has opted to welcome players into the creation process. When creating, holding a nonjudgmental mindset and being open to possibilities will serve you well.
Committed. Changes don’t happen overnight, and we would be grateful for your continued support in visiting the park more than one time. In fact we’d love to see you back this month, next month, and far into the future. Let’s see where this goes!
Passionate about improvements. We’re looking for Hard Hat Tourists who are communicative, pay close attention to detail, and have some experience with playing games so they can thoroughly describe what they want to see more of or report bugs within our park.
Playtesting will not be paid in USD or governmentally recognized currency at this time. Park management MAY recruit members of the Hard Hat Tour for paid positions pending contributions to the park. However, playtesting WILL be compensated with in-game currency and other rewards including but not limited to IRL rewards like gaming consoles, travel vouchers, merch, virtual gifts, access to private Discord channels and more!
You’ll get an email from playtest@mothergames.com with instructions about how to claim your IRL rewards, so keep a close eye on your inbox!
You will receive an email with information from playtest@mothergames about how to redeem your reward.
If you are awarded a role, you will be notified of your role.
If you apply and are not accepted to the current Hard Hat Tour, your application will be retained by park management and will be considered for future park tours and will be notified by email from playtest@mothergames.com of any changes to your application status.
There might be a variety of reasons why your application was declined. For example, if your hardware specifications are not yet supported by the park, you’ll be notified when your hardware is supported. If you are a gamer who specializes in a specific genre, you’ll be invited when features of the park meet your expertise.
Due to our Hard Hat Tours having a limited size, we are constrained to a particular quota. Perhaps a future Hard Hat Tour will align with your application. We keep all applications on file and they automatically roll over to every new Hard Hat Tour if you’re not immediately accepted!
Here are some things that help us form a relationship with future Hard Hat Tourists and may contribute to accelerated acceptance in the park.
We are always accepting applications for Hard Hat Tourists. If you are accepted but there is no open Tour, you will be notified when a new Tour opens.
No, this playtest is brand-spankin free. Once you submit your application and are selected as a Hard Hat Tourist, you can join in at no cost. We will offer items within the park that are available for Hard Hat Tourists to purchase, but there is no requirement. One of the rewards given to our Hard Hat Tourists is Karma, our in-game currency at the Le Zoo™ park.
When the Tour ends, roles will be assigned for outstanding contributions and we may send a survey, but you are welcome to continue to experience the park. In fact, we hope you stick around.
Unforeseen circumstances may cause a temporary pause in your Hard Hat Tour. If that is the case, you will be notified through email.
Our last build was under 1.5 GB; this may change as new builds are issued. Having a device that allows you to download the game package will be important.
We encourage you to show off your Zoot™, share screenshots, and tell your friends about the Le Zoo™ park even though it’s under construction. HOWEVER, it is not permitted to stream content from the Le Zoo™ park because not everyone is qualified for understanding a construction site. You hold a big responsibility as a tester that is contributing to Le Zoo™ becoming ready for others. By applying to playtest, you agree to our PLAY TESTER AGREEMENT, which includes our no-stream, no-video policy which forbids sharing streaming of the open world or any aspect of the game. The only exception to the no-video policy is sharing a video of your Zoot™ (Zoot™ is the suit you wear upon entering the park) within the Zoot™ studio platform experience.
We are currently accepting Hard Hat Tourists while actively building our Alpha because we believe in doing things differently. Le Zoo™ is a community experience. We’re interested in building together with Hard Hat Tourists. Think of it as a soft opening or a private preview at the theme park, just for you!
During the Hard Hat Tour, you'll get access to selected areas and features of Le Zoo™. Many aspects of the park are actively under construction. In fact, you may feel like there’s nothing in the park! Rest assured -- attractions and minigames as well as more in-depth experiences will be added to the park throughout the course of the Tour progression. Similar to how a theme park may have sections or neighborhoods that aren’t available to the public yet, certain access may be restricted. However, Hard Hat Tours intend to allow testers to experience the entirety of the park once it’s available.
If you would like to freeze your position in a Hard Hat Tour, then email us at playtest@mothergames.com, and we will get back to you ASAP to find a solution.
